Speculation is rising around debris found in the Indian Ocean today.
The debris washed up on a French island in the ocean and some are saying it could be from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that disappeared over a year ago.
CNN reported that the debris appears to be part of a wing, but that it’s too soon to be sure if it’s part of the missing plane.
Aviation expert Mary Schiavo told 570 news’ Charlene Close that it won’t take engineers long though to make the determination.
“There will be part-specific numbers, it’s like serial numbers on other things, but they’re part manufactoruing numbers that are on the inside and will be on the inside of this piece of the plane.”
The plane vanished with 239 people on board in March of last year. It was flying to Beijing when it disappered from radar.
