A Cambridge man is in the history books after picking up a silver medal at the Special Olympics.

52-year-old swimmer Bill Smith has won a medal for the 25 metre backstroke competition.

Smith is the first Cambridge athlete to ever win a medal at the Games.

The last to compete in the Games was Derek Dumbrell back in 2002.
