Edward Joseph Bush, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested on June 27 without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault.
His charges have now been upgraded to Manslaughter in connection with the death of Dylan Darren Debreau.
Police say on Friday June 26, just after 11am emergency crews responded to Lancaster St. near Arnold St. in Kitchener for an assault, and found a 23 year old Kitchener man with serious injuries.
Debreau was transported to hospital and air lifted to Hamilton for further treatment.
He was pronounced dead in hospital last night.
Police say the cause of death was the result of blunt force trauma.
They say no weapon was used in the assault.
Police say the two were known to each other and they do not consider this a random act.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Branch and General Division detectives but no further arrests are anticipated.
