The University of Waterloo may be evicting it’s newspaper.
The Federation of Students board of directors reportedly terminated the lease for Imprint, the official independent student newspaper.
It comes to an end at the completion of the winter term.
The newspaper says they got notice on May 1 and talked about a new lease, but were met with talks of rent being doubled, a smaller space, and no longer having space in the Student Life Centre.
It says the board of directors has offered Imprint Publications a space in the SLC basement, which would mean about 50 per cent less space.
570’s Leah Johansen spoke to Carly McCready, VP Operations & Finance for the Federation of Students, here is the full interview.
