Possible twister spotted in Goderich

TORONTO – Several streets in the Toronto area were closed early today after a band of severe storms rolled across southwest and southern Ontario.
Several tornado warnings were issued because of the storms, and although there were no confirmed strikes, at least one possible twister was spotted by a storm chaser in Goderich on the Lake Huron shoreline.
There were no reports of damage by police or fire officials.
The storms also produced downpours which left some roads and train tracks in the Toronto area flooded.
GO Transit says its 6:25 a.m. train from Richmond Hill to Union Station in Toronto has been cancelled due to flooded tracks, and police in London, Ont., say some roads in the city are closed.
Lightning caused some damage in Port Elgin, where Karen Devaul said a lightning bolt hit her clothesline at about 9 p.m., and entered the home, causing a bathroom wall to cave in. There were no injuries.
