Summer officially arrives today at 12:38 p.m. E-T.
There will also be more daylight today than any other day of the year.
570’s Weather Specialist John Wilson tells us what we can expect for the summer-days ahead.
“Summer was supposed to be warmer than normal by about a degree and slightly drier than normal, but the departure from the normal isn’t that great so the precipitation and temperature predictions don’t really show a definite trend either way. So far it’s wetter than normal and slightly cool. Next week looks humid and near normal (temperature), but the week following looks cooler than normal into July.”
For the first day of summer,like every year, to ring in the best season, revellers gathered at England’s ancient Stonehenge monument to greet the sun.
