As the former Mayfair Hotel continues to come down, the structural engineer has submitted a revised demolition plan to take extra precautions when tearing down the old and unstable building.
At this time, crews are installing the shoring required to support the shared wall between the Mayfair and former Hymenn Hardware building, and are waiting for steel reinforcement beams to be made for the front facade of the building.
Any bricks that can be salvaged are also being put aside.
Once all that work is complete and the beams installed, everything will be inspected by the structural engineer and demolition can continue late this week and into Saturday.
King St is expected to re-open by June 3rd.
