Students using pellet guns for project cause lockdown in Fergus

A reminder from OPP to use fake guns carefully and responsibly.

At 10:30 Friday morning, Maranatha Christian School in Fergus was put in lockdown when a group of students approached the school and appeared to have long guns.

OPP later determined that the weapons were pellet guns and were being used as props for a school project.

The guns have since been collected and the lockdown lifted.
