A pact to work together…to bring more people downtown Kitchener…Food truck operators and brick and mortar establishments are struggling in the wake of LRT construction. Cory Bluhm, the city’s manager of downtown development says there is a general desire on both sides to see the core flourish. However, Kitchener may discontinue weekly food trucks at city hall – after the finance and corporate services committee voted in favour of amending a bylaw. They would still be open for business if associated with a festival or event – and could operate weekly or monthly within Downtown Kitchener BIA boundaries.
