Mistrial declared in drunk driving case

A Kitchener judge has once again taken issue with a proposed plea deal for an accused drunk driver charged in the death of a Wellesley boy back in 2011.
The Record says Justice Peter Hambly read from a 16-page statement in court yesterday.
Hambly says the proposed 27-month sentence for 36-year-old Jeremy Glenfield does not address the seriousness of what happened and does not protect the public by sufficiently deterring others and condemning drunk driving.
The judge declared a mistrial with proceedings set to resume on Friday.
11-year-old Jeremy Huber was killed in the December 2011 crash that happened at the intersection of Gerber and Nafziger Road.
