Grand River Hospital has declared an Influenza A outbreak

Grand River Hospital will be limiting visits to Union Terrace Two at its Freeport Site after declaring an Influenza A outbreak earlier today.

The three affected patients are stable and being isolated from other patients while receiving treatment.

All other patients are being monitored for symptoms.

Hospital officials say one of the steps to limit spreading is aggressive cleaning throughout the unit.

They are also limiting visiting on the unit to visits for compassionate reasons until further notice.

Group activities and visiting elsewhere in the hospital will continue.
