Guelph looking at potential warning labels for gas pumps

The City of Guelph is looking at potentially putting warning labels on gas pumps.
It would be similar to the labels currently on tobacco products, but would illustrate how gas and diesel in vehicle engines contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, how they are harmful to human health, and the environment.
Councillor Bob Bell put forth the motion at council.
He says warning labels on gas pumps would make drivers think about how burning fossil fuels affects climate change.
The idea was sparked from another Canadian city’s initiative.
West Vancouver approved gas pump labelling in January.
