Major LRT work to start today on King and Charles

LRT construction kicks into gear today in Kitchener-Waterloo with two main arteries the focus of road work.

King Street between Union and Wellington and Charles between Benton/Frederick and Borden Avenue are expected to be closed starting on or about today.

The initial work will involve preparation including removing trees and other obstacles as well as staging for traffic.

The roads are expected to be closed for up to 6 months.
