12:00 – Local Dragon’s Den auditions

Calling all local entrepreneurs! Following online auditions, you can now apply in person to make it on Dragon’s Den. Coming up this Friday, between 11-6, auditions are being held at Waterloo Innovation Network on Columbia Street. CBC producers are looking for entrepreneurs brave enough to face the Dragons – and have already made stops across Canada, including Montreal, Vancouver, Regina and Winnipeg. In Ontario, the crew has heard from people in London, Toronto, Windsor and Ottawa – and are now set to roll into Waterloo Region two days from now.

March is Fraud prevention month – and according to a national study, two in five Canadians have been approached to invest in a fraudulent scheme. Almost everyone has received that phone call, or that e-mail, telling you that you’ve won thousands of dollars – or asking for financial help to get out of a foreign country. The Fraud Branch is part of Waterloo Regional Police Investigative Services. Rob Cowan joins us now in studio, to share how you can protect yourself from
becoming a victim.
