Here’s the deal. I had no interest in seeing the Oscar-nominated American Sniper. The trailer left me cringing.
Stranded at an airport last week, I bought the book and finished it quickly. I liked Chris Kyle right away. It wasn’t just about the killing. He was open and raw and passionate about his life.. his work and his family. He was very honest about the struggles military families are going through. Kyle was the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history. The Navy SEAL had 160 confirmed kills.
“You need skill to be a sniper, but you also need opportunity. And luck.”
This week, the trial continues for his accused killer.
On a much lighter and happier note…
We had this story this morning on the 570 Morning News:
A new Dr. Seuss book is on the way this summer:
Random House Children’s Books now has its hands on a recently discovered manuscript (with illustrations!) called
“What Pet Should I Get” ..and it features the same sister and brother act from One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Dr. Seuss
