Increased traffic problems affect everyone, but what if it could be solved with smart technology? Kitchener’s Miovision uses modern tech to connect data from intersections for real-time traffic management. They are currently working with 500 organizations and government agencies in over 50 countries, and announced a $30 million financing raise last week to further the “smart cities” vision.

3D printing is revolutionizing how fast and simple a variety of things can be created. Local start-up Voltera has created an electronics printer that enables circuit boards to be prototyped within a matter of minutes. The start-up passed their $70,000 crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter in just 35 minutes.
