11:00am- Rudy – Grammy wrap
Rudy Blair, 570 News and 680 News Music and Entertainment Reporter
Beck pulled an upset at the Grammys by winning album of the year. “Morning Phase” beat out albums by Beyonce’, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. Beck has been nominated for album of the year in each of the past three decades, the only artist to have achieved that, but he never won in that category until last night. Beck says he made the record at his house and he thanked his kids for letting him keep them awake. And Kanye West pulled a Kanye West on Beck. West jumped on stage beside Beck, smiled and jumped away. Thirteen was an unlucky number for Katy Perry. She’s been nominated 13 times for Grammys and last night she went home empty-handed again.

Megan Walker, Executive Director, The London Abused Women’s Centre
The London Abused Women’s Centre is asking movie goers to boycott the 50 Shades of Grey film. The movie hits theatres on February 14th and is based on the series of erotic romance novels by E.L. James. Local women’s activists say the books and film promotes violence against women. Executive Director, Megan Walker is calling for the boycott – and asks that instead of spending money on the film, you donate it to women’s shelters instead. The Centre is backed by U.S. organization Stop Porn Culture – the #50dollarsnot50shades hashtag is trending on Twitter.
