10:00 – Bus Stops/sidewalks – snow
Mike Boos, Executive member, TriTAG (Tri-Cities Transport Action Group)
Another blast of winter weather is heading our way. 570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson says a system will move into our area tomorrow afternoon or evening bringing with it snow. He says we could get anywhere from 5 to 10 centimetres of snow before it tapers off to flurries on Monday. Meanwhile, concerns have been raised about the accessibility of our sidewalks and bus stops. The city has 24 hours to clear the streets after a snowfall, however, private contractors have up to 48 hours to clear our sidewalks and bus stops. This means it could be up to 72 hours before our sidewalks and bus stops are accessible to everyone.
