One passenger dead after GO bus rollover on the 407

A female passenger is dead following a rollover crash involving a GO Transit commuter bus on Highway 407 in Vaughan.

She has been identified as Radika Nankissoor, a 56 year old female from Brampton Ontario.

Ontario Provincial Police initially said the victim was a male, but later confirmed that the victim was an unidentified female.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said six people were on the bus, including the driver, and they suffered injuries ranging from serious to minor.

Schmidt said no other vehicles were involved in the rollover (at Weston Rd.) and that it was too early in the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

However, he says it appears the bus struck a guardrail at about 10 p.m. before rolling onto its side in a grassy median.

GO Transit says the bus departed Hamilton at 8:30 p.m. and was due to arrive at York University by 10:10 p.m.
