10:00 – Gas Prices = savings
Gas prices continue to plunge and experts say it’s expected to stay that way. As of today, most gas stations in Waterloo Region are selling gas around the 85 cent/litre mark. Compare that to one year ago, where it was approximately $1.26. In Waterloo Region, the lowest gas price is in Kitchener at Petroleum Plus on Victoria near Frederick. They’re selling gas for 81.9 cents a litre! According to recent reports, the average driver is saving around $20 with every fill up, so that averages around $1000 savings a year.

A new video game about a character murdering innocent people has drawn criticism for its violence. ‘Hatred’ is an upcoming shooter video game developed by Destructive Creations and scheduled for release this spring online. The premise of the game is simple – you’re a disillusioned psychopath who hates the world and everyone in it. Armed with an arsenal of weapons, you kill, maim and destroy – with the end goal being to take as many lives as possible and go down in a blaze of glory yourself. Due to the graphic realism, the timing in light of recent events, and the broader conversation of real, homegrown violence, this game has touched a nerve. Initially taken down by Steam, an online game store, the gaming community rallied in support – and it was put back up. However, it’s yet to receive a rating – and many gamers think it’s too much.
