Hundreds attend send-off for Kitchener Mayor Zehr

Hundreds gathered at Bingemans on Thursday night to pay tribute to outgoing Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr. His last official day on the job is Sunday.
The event was hosted the Rotary Clubs of Kitchener.
In his address, following glowing accolades from Governor General David Johnston and others, Zehr told the crowd that Kitchener is a great city thanks to the co-operation and efforts of many people.
“…I’m so thrilled that together, councils, staff and citizens, we have made our community stronger and a more enriching place to live, to work and to play.”

Mayor-elect Berry Vrbanovic will be sworn in along with the new council on Monday.
