Kitchener’s longest serving mayor will be honoured tonight by the Rotary Clubs of Kitchener.

The event, taking place at Bingemans, is billed as an evening of tributes, fun and fellowship in honour of Carl Zehr.

Among the scheduled guest speakers are Governor General David Johnston, Regional Chair Ken Seiling and Waterloo’s now former mayor Brenda Halloran.

These are Zehr’s final days in office.

The new city council will be sworn in on Monday.
