Female suffers minor injuries after apartment fire on Queen St

Regional Police temporarily blocked off a section of Queen Street in downtown Kitchener after a fire at an apartment building.

The call came in just before 1:30 to a fire at 307 Queen Street South.

Regional Police have told 570 News, a female did suffer smoke inhalation and was removed from the building by fire crews.

The fire has since been put out, and officers say it appears as though it’s been contained to one unit.

No word on a cause of a possible damage estimate at this point.

The Kitchener Fire Department says they’re still ventilating the apartment building, and have not been able to examine the damage.
