Canada is making additional contributions towards stopping the Ebola outbreak

Canada has answered U-N Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s call for additional funding for the Ebola containment effort.
Federal Health Minister Rona Ambrose says Canada is kicking in an additional 30-million-dollars.
It brings Canada’s total contribution to more than 65-million-dollars in cash, medical gear and experimental Ebola vaccine.
Ambrose says the Canadian funding will help finance treatment and prevention efforts to contain the spread of Ebola, which has killed more than 45-hundred people — mostly in West Africa.
The minister also says she isn’t dismissing the possibility of banning travellers from affected West African countries from entering Canada.
However, she notes that Canada has no direct flights to the three countries where the Ebola crisis is centred, and that only 30 to 50 travellers a week travel from those countries to Canada.
