David Suzuki stops in Kitchener

Kitchener is the latest stop for Award-winning Geneticist, Author, Broadcaster and co-founder of the David Suzuki Foundation, David Suzuki.

He will be speaking at Center In The Square Monday night as part of his Blue Dot Tour.

The 20 community tour is spreading the message that all Canadians should have the right to drink clean water, breath fresh air and eat healthy food.

Suzuki spoke on the 570 News Midday show and says 90% of Canadians believe the environment is part of who we are.

However we get up in the daily grind and big headlines.

He says every day in Canada there are one thousand boil water advisories and 50 percent of Canadians live in a community with bad air.

Regarding politics, Suzuki says there shouldn’t be a Green Party.

He says green issues should be part of every party’s platform.

Once you have a Green Party, voters think that is all you will focus on and the other parties believe they can concentrate on other issue like the economy.

Many other Canadian icons have appeared during the tour including Margaret Atwood and Barenaked Ladies.

Suzuki says audience members will be entertained and informed.
