1:00- “Hollywood North” isn’t just Toronto anymore
Matthew Ninaber of Conestogo Founder of High Rise Studios and Director, Producer, and Writer
High Rise Studio is proud to announce the completion of their sophomore feature film, EXTRACTION DAY. Following the success of the local production company’s premier full-length film, Last Run, local moviegoers will have the opportunity to view EXTRACTION DAY at Landmark Cinemas in Waterloo this month. Directed and produced by High Rise Studio founder, Matthew Ninaber of Conestogo, EXTRACTION DAY is the story of Jacob Bradley, a man who wakes up in a warehouse in the midst of a tactical raid – with no memory or any idea of who he is. It was produced and primarily funded in house. With the generous involvement of family, friends, the community and the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, High Rise Studio hopes EXTRACTION DAY will inspire people to live their life, pursue their purpose and chase their dreams. “Right now, Waterloo Region is known as a tech town, but I want to help put the region on the map when it comes to arts and film as well.” says Ninaber. “Hollywood North isn’t just Toronto anymore, and I want to showcase that Kitchener-Waterloo can compete.” Beginning October 20, 2014, four exclusive showings at Landmark Cinema will allow cast, crew, their families, as well as the community that made it happen, to see the final picture before it is released in North America and Asia (China, Japan, South Korea).
