Second case of Enterovirus D68 confirmed in Waterloo Region

A second lab test has come back positive for Enterovirus D68.
Public Health Officials tell 570 News that the positive test was done at Grand River Hospital.
Details on the patient, including gender and age, are not known at this time.
The respiratory illness has hospitalized thousands of children in the U.S. and Canada.
Officials say in order to prevent the spread of infection, wash your hands with soap and water, and stay home if you’re sick.
