An investigation is underway after six 45-gallon drums were found on a construction site in Guelph that were filled with an unknown liquid.
The city and Ministry of the Environment and climate change are conducting the investigation.
Officials say they have discovered a leak and they’re working to ensure the area is safe, and that there’s no threat to public safety.
The construction area just east of the Hanlon Parkway and north of Wellington Street is a historic landfill.
Further scans on the site will be done to locate more containers and underground objects.
