BlackBerry software to be used by US Government

BlackBerry says it has received key security clearance from the US Defense Information Systems Agency.That will allow BlackBerry Enterprise service 10 mobile management software to be used by Government workers on devices that run the Android operating system or apple’s iOS software.

The move comes as BlackBerry attempts to reinvent itself since sales of it’s own smartphones have dropped.

The approval means BlackBerry’s entire mobile portfolio – including BlackBerry 10 devices – is STIG approved.
