Premier Kathleen Wynne is warning of “difficult choices” ahead as her majority Liberal government prepares to implement its left-leaning agenda. Wynne added more muscle to the massive finance and health portfolios yesterday in her revamped 27-member cabinet. The finance file will be divided into three parts — with Charles Sousa as finance minister, Deb Matthews as Treasury Board president, and associate minister Mitzie Hunter in charge of setting up the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan. Also today, Whitby M-P-P Christine Elliott plans to take another shot at leading Ontario’s PC Party. The widow of former federal finance minister Jim Flaherty has scheduled a news conference for 10:30.

10:30- Karl Kiefer, Ward 3 City of Cambridge Councillor
Cambridge city council voted unanimously Monday to order staff to develop a food truck bylaw, which will allow food trucks to roll into downtown Galt and Preston on a trial basis as soon as later this summer. Under the proposed terms of the bylaw, supported by business improvement areas in Galt and Preston, up to nine food trucks will be allowed in the city, with each truck required to purchase a license for $264. “There are checks and balances in this report that staff has done that I’m in favour of,” Kiefer said. Restrictions suggested by staff include a 30-metre setback from any dining establishment, a 100-metre setback from all schools, and a complete ban on operating in residential areas or city/regional roads.
