Thirty-two countries will compete for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil starting later this week on Thursday. Who’s the favourite? Which nation could pull off a shocker? The New York Rangers will host Game 3 tonight against the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings won the first two games of the series in overtime. The NBA Finals between the Heat and Spurs is deadlocked at a game apiece.

Canada’s golf industry seeks tax break for businesses entertaining clients. Canada’s golf industry says it’s unfair that Canadian businesses can take clients out to dinner or to sports events and then write off half the costs at tax time, but they can’t do the same while taking clients out for a round of golf. Golf-related client expenses in Canada have not been eligible for tax rebates in Canada since 1971, even though other client-entertainment expenses are eligible, and Calderwood says that’s not fair. He says many businesses prefer to take clients to sports events, restaurants, concerts, or performing arts events instead, simply because of the tax implications.
