Tim Hudak is in Waterloo Region today, speaking with students at Kitchener’s Conestoga College. The Ontario PC leader will also attend a Town Hall meeting at Conestoga Place at 7 PM tonight.
This will wrap up a day on the campaign trail – earlier, he was in Vaughan – where he said he would allow more young people to train as apprentices so they can get jobs as plumbers, welders or electricians and help address a labour shortage in the skilled trades.
He also said that Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is picking a fight with Prime Minister Stephen Harper over transfer payments to distract from her own problems like the 1.1-billion-dollar gas plant scandal.
Hudak says he’d take a different approach in negotiating with the federal government if he becomes Premier.
Speaking in Ottawa today, Kathleen Wynne said Hudak won’t stand up to the Harper Conservatives if he becomes premier after the June 12th election. She’s currently heading to Kingston for a 5:30 TV appearance.
And NDP leader Andrew Horwath is in London after a stop in Niagara Falls.
