“Your Kitchener, Your Say” campaign kicks off

The “Your Kitchener, Your Say!” campaign kicks off this week to get feedback from residents to help develop council’s Strategic Plan for next term.

The first workshop will take place this Tuesday May 6th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Country Hills Community Centre.

Last fall, Compass Kitchener conducted a survey of over 1,000 Kitchener residents asking what they value most about living in Kitchener. The results of that survey will be the focus of the upcoming workshops.

The top responses focused on the good quality of life, vibrant neighbourhoods and the city’s ample green spaces and recreational amenities.

“The City of Kitchener has limited resources and needs to be strategic in setting goals for the future,” adds Majcher. “The city must focus resources on those areas that will have the greatest positive impact on the overall quality of life in Kitchener.”

“There are many ways that people can share their voice on the priorities for the next term of council” says Laurie Majcher, Manager of Strategy and Business Planning with the City of Kitchener. “The workshops are one way, but there are a lot of online options as well including short surveys and discussion forms that people can participate in.”
