OHL Final opens tonight in Guelph

The conclusion of the Ontario Hockey League season is just four to seven games away.

The 2014 Rogers OHL Championship Series between the Storm and North Bay Battalion starts at 7 o’clock tonight in Guelph.

Guelph was the league’s top team, finishing with 108 points. North Bay started the playoffs as the second seed in the East.

570’s Kitchener Rangers analyst, Mike Farwell says the Storm have been rolling since November.

“They can roll three lines at you and all three lines have offensive capability…Then you’ve got a fourth line to come out there and grind and chip in the occasional goal…It’s been very impressive.”

“History has shown us over the last decade plus that the East just isn’t there with the West. I don’t want to take anything away from what has been a nice story for North Bay this year and a very good season, but I don’t see them having a whole lot of a chance in this series with Guelph.” adds Farwell.

The Storm will be trying to win their third Robertson Cup, their last coming in 2004. The Battalion have never won a championship.

The winning team will play in this month’s Memorial Cup in London.
