12:00- How fat are we?
Nadeem Esmail, Director of Health Policy Studies at the Fraser Institute
There is no obesity epidemic in Canada, and even if there was, government intervention aimed at overweight Canadians is costly, poorly targeted and likely ineffective, finds a new study released today by the Fraser Institute.  The “Obesity in Canada: Overstated Problems, Misguided Policy Solutions” study, which recognizes a difference between obesity and overweightness, spotlights three main topics: obesity rates in Canada, the connection between obesity/overweightness and poor health/early death, and government response.

12:30- What workout tips and tricks do you have?
Simon Whitfield, 4-time Olympic triathlete, gold and silver medallist, flag-bearer at 2012 London Olympics
Spring is here and Canadians are itching to get outside to transform their semi-hibernating bodies. Who better than Simon Whitfield, one of Canada’s favourite Olympians, to help Canadians get in shape and maximize their workout routines this spring? Not only is Simon offering up his advice for listeners of your show, but one lucky Canadian (maybe one of your listeners) will also have the chance to win a 12-week training program with Simon for the 2015 Halifax Blue Nose Marathon or the Mississauga Marathon.
