Local man in medical distress while driving on 401

A Kitchener man is in hospital after suffering medical distress while driving on the Eastbound 401 earlier this afternoon. Oxford County OPP Constable Lisa Narancsik says the man struck a tractor trailer and was not staying within the lanes.

Officers finally managed to stop the vehicle – on the Eastbound 403 – where the 61 year old was sent to hospital for a medical assessment.

Narancsik tells 570 News: “We’re just glad that everybody was ok as a result of it. Other than scaring a few other people, it didn’t cause any harm to anyone else out there on the highway.”

The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

OPP continue to investigate, although charges aren’t likely.
