Those with developmental disabilities won’t have to wait for funding, this thanks to $810 million from the provincial government over the next three years.
The governing Liberals plan to eliminate the current waitlists for the Special Services at Home program for children in two years and the Passport program for adults in four years.
According to the province, this would provide direct funding to about 21-thousand people with developmental disabilities and allow them to customize their services and supports.
MPP for Kitchener Centre John Milloy was at the announcement and says “this will directly affect people with developmental disabilities and their families here in Waterloo Region and help them to have meaningful lives and become productive members of the Region.”
