11:00- Keeping kids safe or over-reaction toward safety?

By next September, all of the 104 public elementary schools that make up the WRDSB will lock their front doors. Following a successful pilot project at Chalmers Public School in Cambridge that began back in January, the board will begin rolling the program out to schools across the region over the next few months. Visitors and parents will need to be admitted into the school at the main entrance through an integrated intercom, buzzer and camera system.

11:30- The finger pointing continues, but who’s at fault here?
The Air Canada baggage handlers involved in the now-infamous carry-on baggage-bombing incident will be fired, the finger pointing has not stopped. Their union says the airline is at fault for its loose enforcement of carry-on restrictions, forcing handlers to deal quickly with increasing amounts of excess carry-on bags being checked at the gate so as not to delay the flight.
