Ontario Conservatives election ready

Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak says his party is ready for an election and has nominated candidates in 99 of the province’s 107 ridings.

He says the Tories will concentrate on the issues he believes matter most to Ontario voters — creating jobs and improving the economy.

Hudak, who was in Cambridge for a fundraiser Tuesday night, promises to break down inter-provincial trade barriers, freeze government wages to eliminate the 11.3-billion-dollar deficit and reduce business taxes.

Premier Kathleen Wynne and her ministers have made a flurry of feel-good pre-budget promises over the last few weeks, such as providing more funding for school breakfast programs.
