Gastro-intestinal outbreak at GRH’s Freeport site

A gastro-intestinal outbreak has been declared on one of the units at Kitchener’s Freeport Hospital.

Grand River Hospital says it affects the Union Terrace two north rehabilitation unit.

It says three patients and two staff members have developed symptoms in line with a stomach virus.

So for now, the hospital is limiting visits to the unit, has isolated the patients and staff affected, is carrying out a thorough cleaning of the area and postponing group activities.
