Spring arrives just before 1pm

We’re counting down the hours until the arrival of spring. Winter ends at 12:57 this afternoon.

It will go down in the books as the coldest winter in these parts since 1994.

570 News Weather Specialist, John Wilson say temperatures were about four degrees below average and we set several records: five new record low minimums and two record low maximums.

He says, while the winter 20 years ago may have been colder on average, he can not recall a winter like this when the cold was so persistent.

While spring does arrive today, he warns, three more arctic pushes are on the horizon over the next two to three weeks.

As for snowfall, Wilson says we received a little bit more than normal.
