Salvation Army still looking for Winter donations

Although we’ll get a brief warm-up this weekend, officials with the Salvation Army say they’re still seeing high demand for Winter clothing.They’re specifically looking for boots, hats, mittens, gloves and jackets.
Major Rick Sheasby with the Salvation Army in Kitchener Waterloo tells 570 News they’re SHORT on Winter supplies.
“We generally direct people down to our store with a voucher, should they need something like that” says Major Rick Sheasby with the Salvation Army of Kitchener-Waterloo. “We don’t have a lot of resource on site at the moment given that a lot of our clothing was given out in November.”
“Anything that can keep people warm. It’s still three weeks away they say of this cold weather, before a snap” adds Sheasby. “Anything like that. If we can’t use it now, we can always use it next year.”
Officials say they rely on the public to bring in donations and anyone with extra to spare is encouraged to drop them off.
Anyone looking to make donations can do so at the store 300 Gage Avenue from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
