More WRPS officers could have tasers by the fall

By the fall – more police officers across Waterloo Region could be armed with tasers.
At Wednesday’s Police Services Board Meeting officers gave the go ahead to consult the community about the decision.
The move comes after the minority Liberal government announced last summer, ALL frontline officers would be allowed to carry stun guns.
Focus groups will be used to consult with the community and that will run until the end of September.
