Premier Kathleen Wynne was in Cambridge Friday, where she announced that manufacturer COM DEV will receive $1 million dollars worth of funding from the province.
The company, which designs and manufactures space hardware, is headquartered in Cambridge and will now be able to hire 75 more workers thanks to the funding.
MPP for Kitchener Centre John Milloy joined the premier at the announcement and says these businesses are part of the provincial governments plan to help companies expand and increase productivity.
“It’s always important to remember the links that our high-tech community has to the larger economy…they are one of the big drivers in this economy, it’s going to mean more direct jobs and more indirect jobs.”
Milloy adds, the funding is part of the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund and it’s goal is to help companies expand, increase productivity, and create more jobs and wealth.
