Don Cameron Potato Night set for Feb. 7th

Don Cameron Potato Night is just over one week away.

This is the 17th year for the initiative which supports the House of Friendship. The House of Friendship
is also marking its 75th anniversary.

Don Cameron Potato Night takes place Friday, February 7th when the Kitchener Rangers host the Oshawa Generals.

Cameron tells 570 News you do have options if you forget to bring a sack of potatoes to the game. Cash donations will also be accepted.

He says the House of Friendship also has a deal with a local farmer who will be able to grow those potatoes, package them and do it much cheaper than what people would pay at the grocery store.

Cameron, who hails from Prince Edward Island, says potatoes were selected because they are a very valuable food in our diet. He says the House of Friendship goes through roughly 300,000 pounds of spuds each year.
