Last ‘Weekend Update’ for Seth Meyers

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Seth Meyers says the thought of leaving “Saturday Night Live” is “heartbreaking.” He tells his last joke on “Weekend Update” in less than two weeks. His final appearance will be February 1st.

Then he’ll start preparing to take over “Late Night” on February 24th. Meyers says he’s glad he got to do the first half of this season before saying goodbye.

The new theme for “Late Night” has been sent to composers. And Meyers is in the process of finding a band for the show. His writers are trying to come up with characters who can be regulars, like Stefon was on S-N-L.
