10:00am- David Musyj, C-E-O of Windsor Regional Hospital, Re: Musyj believes that people should be told how much their individual health care costs. He thinks people should get a summary of all OHIP charges on an annual basis, or when they leave hospital. Musyj says Ontario spends nearly $50-billion a year on health care, but people really have “no clue” on how much is spent on their individual care and that it would be an “eye-opening” experience for many.
10:30am- Jason Kirby, Senior Editor at Maclean’s Magazine, Re: Kirby’s latest article: “Canada’s Fatal Attraction to Debt” dispels the notion Canadians are frugal. With household debt on the march to $2-trillion, a savings rate a fraction of what it was 30 years ago, and waves of warnings from international banks and Nobel-winning economists about Canada’s debt-fuelled housing market, any pretense to prudence has long since been banished.
