Collapse at Mississauga, Ont., construction site kills worker: police

Police say a man is dead after being trapped in a partial collapse at a construction site at a Mississauga, Ont., shopping mall.
Emergency crews rushed to the Sheridan Centre (near the QEW and Erin Mills Parkway) at about 11:30 a.m. today and found the victim trapped.

A rescue effort ensued using heavy machinery to try to free the man, but he was later declared dead at the scene.

The cause of the collapse has not yet been determined.

The Ministry of Labour has been notified and will be investigating.
