First snow, now a deep freeze

Waterloo Region has received about 25 centimetres of snow in the past 24 hours.
That from Dave Phillips, the Senior Climatologist at Environment Canada.
Phillips tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show the silver lining is we will see the temperature start to rise by the weekend.
But, first we have a deep freeze to deal with. The overnight temp. is expected to hit -36.
It’s due to a polar vortex heading our way.
Phillips says two high pressure systems meet and spin in different directions. That pushes all the cold air down.
