The Lexington Road Animal Hospital is holding their 8th annual pet food drive.
The drive was initiated eight years ago by veterinarian Dr. Marie Hardy, after she noticed a need for pet food at the local food bank.
Hospital Manager, Michelle Mathes says pets are part of the family too, and they became concerned when people were sharing human food with their pets because of lack of pet food.
Mathes encourages anyone making a donation to the Food Bank to consider giving a bag of pet food as well.
She says last year alone, they raised almost one-thousand pounds of food.
Donations can be made at the Food Bank, or at the Animal Hospital, located at 135 Lexington Ct, Waterloo.
